"친구한테 뭐하냐고 전화가 왔어.", "내가 걔한테 문자로 기사 링크를 하나 보내주면서 한번 읽어보라고 그랬어." -- 우리가 실제로 얼굴보면서 하는 대화 외에 전화통화나 문자 그리고 메일로 주고 받는 대화와 내용이 많다.  이번 영상에서는 이런 상황 속에서 오가는 내용을 영어로 표현하는 것을 배워봅니다.

 

• 통화중이야 / 통화중이었어.

I am / was on the phone right now.

I think she is on the phone right now.

 

• 연락을 유지하다 / 연락을 계속하다 / 연락을 계속 주고 받다.

• keep in touch / stay in touch

 

우리 아직도 연락 주고 받아 / 우리 아직도 연락해

We still keep in touch. 

We still stay in touch.

 

우리 돌아오고 나서도 아직도 연락을 해

We've been staying (keeping) in touch even after I came back.

We've been in touch even after I came back. * staying (keeping) 생략해서 사용가능

우리 아주 가까웠는데 졸업하고나서 연락이 쫌 끈겼어.

I sent her a message (text) saying (that) I'm almost there.

I sent her a message telling her (that) I was almost there.

 

• I'm almost there 나 거의 거기에 있어 / 나 거의 도착했어

• saying (that) / telling someone (that) 얘기를 하는 / 말을 하는 / 애기를 해주는 

 

걔가 이번 주말에는 바쁘다고 답장이 왔어.

I got a reply from him saying that he's busy this weekend.

He sent me a reply telling me that he was busy this weekend.

I got a text from a friend asking (me) where I was.

A friend sent me a message this morning  asking me where I was.

친구가 바쁘냐고 문자를 보냈어요.

A friend sent me a text asking if  I was busy.

I got a text from a friend asking if I was busy.

 

내가 걔한테 이번 주말에 같이 영화보러 가고 싶냐고 문자를 보냈어.

I sent him a message (text) asking if he wanted to go to see a movie together this weekend.

 

내일 아침에 회의가 있다는걸 잊지 말라는 문자를 받았어요. 

I got a text from work reminding me about the meeting tomorrow morning.

• ~ saying / telling me not to forget ...

• 누구에게 알려주려고

• ~~ letting (누구) know ...

 

I got an email from them letting me know what I need to prepare.

걔한테서 어디냐고 전화가 왔어.

I got a call from him asking me where I was.

I got a call from a friend asking me what I was doing.

I got a message from my friend with a picture of a (some) girl asking me if I knew who she was.

I sent him a message with a link to an article saying (telling him) that he should read it.
