#. 영어회화 | 대화가이드 #03 | 전화와 관련된 기본 표현 익히기 - Part 1

 

 

"전화를 받다/걸다/하다", "통화를 하다", "연락을 하다" 처럼 전화와 관련된 표현은 상황과 구체적인 의미에 따라서 여러가지가 있다.  이번 대화가이드를 통해 그 중 가장 기본적인 것들을 좀 정리해보자..

 

 

A: 

안받아? 괜찮아 어서 받어.

Aren't you going to get that? Aren't you going to answer that?

Aren't you going to pick up?  It's OK go ahead, answer it / get it.

 

• go ahead 먼저 앞서가라 / 맘 편히 자유롭게 해라

 

B:

여보세요? 네 잠시만요.

Hello? Could you hold on (for) a second (minute) ?

I'm sorry but I really need / have / got to take this ( +call ) 

미안한데, 통화좀 하고 올께

I'm sorry but I need (have) to take this (call).

• need to / have to  대신 got to 도 많이 사용

• I need to make a phone call 통화좀 하고 올께 ( 내가 통화하려고 할때)

 

A:

어 어서 하고 와 Yeah ,, Go ahead ,,, Take your Time 천천히 하고와

B:

삼촌이었어.

That was my uncle.

That was my (Someone) 

A:

삼촌이랑 친해.

Are you close with your uncle?

• be close with / be close to  ~ 랑 친해

B:

아, 우리 아버지가 돌아가시고 나서부터 전화를 가끔 하시더라구. Ever since my father passed away, He has been calling me from time to time.

 

• ever 강조의 의미

• pass away  사망하다[돌아가시다]

• 가끔     from time to time / every now and then / sometimes 완료시제에는 안어울림

 

A:

그렇게 친하진 않는데, (요즘은) 1주일에 한 두번 정도 통화해.

We're not that very close, but We talk on the phone once or twice a week.

 

• 걸려온전화를 받는경우 I need to take this.

• 전화를 거는입장인경우 I need to make a phone call.

• 전화상으로 전화를 하는경우 talk (to someone) on the phone.

 

• 전화를 걸다 dial a number

• 누구한테 전화가 오다 I got a call from my friend.

• 연락을 하다 call / get in touch with  - contact (X) 형식적인 표현 

• I got in touch with one of my friends. 그전에 연락이 않되었던 상황
