Fun New Sports in France

France recently named some new official sports.

These sports are unusual, but they are also fun.

We may even see some of them in the Olympics someday.

• Light-saber Dueling

Light-sabers are colorful laser swords from the "Star Wars" movies.

In the science-fiction films, Jedi knights use them during duels.

In February, France made the light-saber an official fencing blade.

It made rules and competitions for light-saber duels.

France has a long tradition in fencing, and it wants more people to take part.

So, it made light-saber dueling  an official sport.

• Break-dancing

Break-dancing is a kind of street dance.

It began in the 1970s, and now, it is popular around the world.

Already, there are many break-dancing competitions.

Teams and individuals "battle" each other with their best dance moves.

Soon, break-dancing could even be in the Olympics.

France wants to include it in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
