New Water Taxis Tested in Paris

Officials are testing a new mode of transportation on the Seine River in Paris, France.

These environmentally-friendly vehicles look like spaceships.

However, they are electric water taxis called Sea Bubbles.

Sea Bubbles have legs that look like skis.

The legs lift the body of the vessel, which can seat six passengers.

Because the body hovers above the water, the water taxi can move swiftly.

The makers say the Sea Bubbles make no carbon emissions or noise.

Plus, it will only coat 3 euros or 4,000 Korean won to ride the vehicle.

This is more affordable than a boat ride, which costs 30 euros or about 40,000 Korean won.

After the service launches in Paris, it will expand to 50 cities in 5 years.

Of course, those cities should have a significant waterway, such as a river.
