# What's (up) with something ~은 대체 왜 그래요? 평소와는 다르거나 뭔가 이상해 보일 때 궁금해서 물어보는 표현이다

What's up with your hair?

 

Hey, what's up with your hair?

> I overslept. My office dinner ended after midnight.

You are supposed to make a presentation tomorrow.

> Can you help me with my work a little?

Okay. Let's go over your assignment first.

> Please book a meeting room in advance.

 

@ What's up with something?

 

What's up with your face?

> My girlfriend left me yesterday.

 

@ be supposed to + RV  … 하기로 되어 있다, … 할 의무가 있다

 

I think we were supposed to get back together.

> I don't think we should see each other anymore.

 

@ help somebody with + N   ~를 돕다

 

Can I help you with your bag?

> No, thank you. I can handle it.

 

@ book something in advance  미리 예약하다

 

I'm afraid we're fully booked then.

> We have to book at least 2 weeks in advance.

 

  • go over  ~을 점검[검토]하다  Go over your work before you hand it in.

  • then  그때(과거·미래의 특정한 때를 가리킴)  Life was harder then because neither of us had a job.  Things were very different back then.
