### Winter Events in Korea

 

Do you enjoy the cold?

Some people love it!

They even go to outdoor events in winter.

Let's check out three winter events in Korea.

Children and adults in Seoul enjoy sledding there.

There is one big slope and one small slope.

After sledding, people can also catch smelts.

They are a type of fish.

Pyeongchang has cold and clear water.

This is good for trout.

In winter, the river freezes.

So, people go ice fishing.

When people catch a fish, the restaurants can cook it for them.

In the summer, Boryeong hosts a mud festival on its beach.

In the winter, the beach turns into a skate park.

There is an ice rink and a sledding area.

People also fly kites and play folk games there.

### Doodle Boy

 

Joe whale is a 10-year-old boy from England.

He really likes to draw.

He even doodles in class.

At first, his teachers worried about this.

But now, he is famous.

One day, a restaurant owner asked him to draw on the restaurant wall.

Later, it became an amazing mural.

"He is very imaginative," his mother said.

"I am very proud of him."

### New Tallest Building

 

Lotte World Tower is in Seoul.

It is 555 meters tall.

It is the tallest building in Korea.

But in the future, there will be a new building in Seoul.

Hyundai Company will construct this skyscraper.

The new building will have 105 stories.

It will be 569 meters tall.

That means it will be taller than Lotte World Tower!

There will be many offices in the new building.

It will also include restaurants and stores.

The building will be finished in 2026.

### Canned Food Art

 

Recently, there was an art exhibition in New York.

There were many sculptures.

One sculpture showed the Statue of Liberty.

Another showed the Apollo Lunar Lander.

Interestingly, the sculptures were made with canned food.

The sculptors stacked the cans.

They used over 100,000 cans.

After the exhibition, they donated the cans to people in need.

"This event will help many people." one artist said.

### Pengsoo!

 

Pororo is the most famous penguin in Korea.

But now there is another famous penguin.

Its name is Pengsoo.

It came from the South Pole.

Here are some facts about this character.

Pengsoo is a giant penguin.

People do not know if it is a boy or a girl.

It is 210 centimeters tall and weights 94 kilograms.

It is ten years old.

Right now, Pengsoo is a trainee at EBS.

Its dream is to become a superstar.

Its motto is "Smile, and you will be happy."

Many children like Pengsoo.

Adults in their 20s and 30s also like this character.

They think Pengsoo is funny and strange.

They watch Pengsoo on YouTube.

Its channel is called "Giant PengTV."

The channel has more than I million subscribers.
