I live an hour and a half away from my work place. Commuting is certainly not easy ..

but I like the fact that I can afford a much better home.

Honestly, even if I could live just 5 minutes away from my workplace, I don't want to live in a small and crappy apartment.

I'd rather have long commutes and live in a decent place.

 

• Commuting 통근  commute  kəˈmjuːt    통근하다

• crappy  ˈkræpi   (속어) 쓰레기 같은, 형편없는

• decent 

나는 근무시간이 길지는 않은데 돈은 많이 못받아. 적은 급여로 지내는게 물론 쉽지는 않은데

내 시간이 많다는 점이 좋아. 솔직히 말해서 돈을 아주 많이 벌수 있다 하더라도

내 모든 시간을 일하는 데에만 보내고 싶지 않거든. 차라리 돈 적게 받으면서 내가 하고 싶은걸 할 시간을 갖고싶어.

 

I don't work very long hours but I don't make a lot of money. It's certainly not easy living on such a small salary ..

but I really like the fact that I have a lot of time for myself. Honestly, even if I could make a lot of money,

I don't want to spend all my time working. I'd rather earn little and have time to do what I want.

저는 직장이 집에서 1시간 반 걸려요.

솔직히 말해서 저는 직장에서 5분거리에 살 수 있다 하더라도 작고 낡은 아파트에서 살고 싶진 않거든요.

• 어제 비가 왔는데도 걔네들은 밖에서 운동을 했어.

• Even though it rained yesterday, they went out and exercised.

 

• even if: ~ 을 할 수 있다 하더라도( 정해진건 없는데)

• 이번주에 비가 온다하더라도 우리는 밖에 나가서 운동을 할꺼야.

• Even if it rains this weekend  we are going to go out and exercise.

차라리 길게 출퇴근하면서 괜찮은 집에서 살고싶어요.  I'd rather have long commutes and live in a decent place.
