우리가 무엇을 했을 그것이 다른 것들에 비해 특히 좋았을 때 영어로 그것을 어떻게 강조해서 얘기를 할 수 있는지 이번 영상에서 배워봅니다.  이번 영상에서 배우는 내용: 1. 며칠 전에 : the other day 2. 친구들이랑 : some friends and I 3. "I mean.." 의 사용법 4. "이번이 특히 좋았던 것은 ~"

The other day, Some friends and I went to an Indian Restaurant and I was really good.

I mean I've been to quite a few Indian Restaurant before, but what made this place especially better was...

they showed us the traditional way to eat the food and I thought that was really fun.

It was really nice to be able to experience their culture instead of just eating the food.

며칠전에 친구들이랑 새로 나온 마블(Marvel)영화를  봤는데요 정말 재미있었어요. 아니, 전에도 슈퍼히어로 영화는 꽤 많이 봤었는데 이번 영화가 특히 좋았던거는 다양한 캐릭터들이 동시에 등장을 했다는 거에요. 제가 가장 좋아하는 캐릭터들을 한 영화에서 한꺼번에 볼수 있어서 너무 좋았어요.

 

The other day, Some friends and I watched the new Marvel movie and it was really good.

I mean I've seen quite a few superhero movies before, but what made this one (movie) especially better was ...

that it featured many different characters at the same time.

It was really nice to be able to see my favorite characters in a single movie.

며칠전에 친구들이랑 인도레스토랑을 갔는데 너~~무 괜찮았어요.

The other day, Some friends and I went to an Indian restaurant  and it was really good.

 

• 며칠전에 the other day 불특정한 과거

• I went to an Indian Restaurant with my some friends ...  말의 중심이 분산됨 : 친구들이랑 갔었다가 강조

• Some friends and I went to an Indian Restaurant.  인도레스토랑에 갔다가 강조

• it was really good / great / excellent / fantastic / wonderful / amazing.

 

아니, 전에도 인도식당은 꽤 많이 가봤는데,

i mean, I've been to quite a few Indian restaurants before,

 

• 아니 : 앞서했던말을 지원, 강조하는 의미 reinforce  강화하다, 보강하다

• I mean ~ 이 표현은 문맥에 따라서 의미하는 바라 달라지는 경우가 많음

• 꽤 많이 quite a lot / quite a few

 

근데 이번에 갔던 곳이 특히 좋았던것은...

But what made this place especially better was... 이곳을 특히 더 좋게 만들었던것은

 

• this place == the place we went to this time

 

음식을 전통적인 방식으로 먹는것을 거기서 보여줬는데 난 그게 너무 재밌었어.

They showed us the traditional way to eat the food, and I thought that was really fun.

 

• There, the 삼겹살is good. = The 삼겹살 is good there  >> They have good 삼겹살 = Their 삼겹살 is really good

• 거기는 삼겹살이 맛있어.

• 거기는 = they 

 

음식을 먹는 것만이 아니라 그들의 문화를 경험할수 있어서 좋았어.

It was really nice to be able to experience their culture instead of just eating the food.
