티스토리 뷰
In September, the biggest airport in the world opened in Beijing, China.
It is about 1 million square meters, or the size of almost 100 soccer fields.
The Beijing Daxing International Airport is located 30 kilometers south of the Chinese capital city.
It was designed by the late Iraqi architect, Zaha Hadid.
Hadid designed the airport in the shape of a star.
This is to make it easy for airplanes to arrive and depart from various directions.
By next year, more than 110 global destinations will be accessible from Daxing.
Moreover, officials expect the impressive airport to serve over 72 million travelers per year by 2025.
This is good news for Beijing Capital International Airport, which had been overcrowded due to being the city's main airport.
Now, the new airport will reduce the pressure there by providing an alternative.
