The "meatless meat" trend is taking off in numerous countries.
New products are quickly finding their way to people's plates.
The fast-food franchise KFC recently jumped on the bandwagon.
Known for its fried chicken, the company tested out new food on its menu, called Beyond Chicken.
Beyond Chicken looks like chicken nuggets or boneless wings, but 100 percent of the meatless dish is made with vegetables.
While Beyond Chicken does not contain any real chicken meat, KFC insists it tastes as good as the real thing.
Meanwhile, several companies have begun selling plant-based substitutes for eggs.
These "eggless egg" products come in liquid form, but are made to taste like real eggs.
People can make scrambled eggs with them or use them in recipes whenever an egg is required.
The "meatless meat" trend took off in the United States earlier this year, when Burger King introduced the Impossible Whopper.
The meatless burger became a hit, selling out at various restaurants.
People also enjoyed the feeling that they were helping the environment by not consuming beef.
Other food companies followed Burger King and began offering their own meatless products.
One company tried making the meat and cheese on its pizza with plant-based substitutes.
Recently, Mc Donald's put out its own meatless burger, to compete with Burger King's Impossible Burger.
However, experts warn that we still do not completely understand the health benefits of "meatless meat" products.
For example, meatless products at fast-food restaurants may still be fried and contain a lot of salt.
Nevertheless, the new trend show s that more people are concerned about eating healthier, as well as helping the environment.
