Where did presidents, prime minister, and kings get their education?
It turns out that more of today's leaders attended university in the United States than anywhere else.
The Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI) is a think tank in the United Kingdom.
Every year, it looks at the heads of state and heads of government around the globe, and examines where they studied abroad.
This year, the list included 337 leaders in 195 countries.
The think tank found that 62 leaders in 55 countries received their degree in the United States.
According to HEPI, this is more than any other country.
Following close behind was the United Kingdom, which educated 59 leaders from 53 countries.
Two years ago, the U.K. was the most popular choice, ahead of the U.S.
Notably, many of the countries at the top of the list were English-speaking nations.
Including Australia, 130 world leaders were educated in a country where English was the native language.
The HEPI said these trends are important because world leaders are more likely to form an emotional bond with the country where they attended university.
They may even feel closer to the people from that country because of that bond.
In this way, the think tank said these educational decisions should be seen as a type of "soft power."
They may have long-term consequences for international relations.
Outside of the U.S. and the U.K., French universities were also a popular choice for many world leaders.
This was mainly due to a high number of African countries where French is an official language.
