### Bananas in Danger

 

The banana is in danger.

Sadly, it may go extinct in the future.

The banana is one of the world's most popular fruits.

Farmers grow bananas in Asia, Oceania, Africa, and South America.

However, there is a fungus named TR4.

It infects banana trees.

After that, the infected tree cannot bear fruit.

The fungus was found at banana farms in Asia and South America.

Now, scientists are trying to stop the TR4 virus.

"But this virus is very strong," one scientist said.

"So far, there is no cure."

### Dogs at a Musical

 

In August, a musical took place in Canada.

A special audience watched the loud performance.

Many dogs sat in the theater.

The musical was 160 minutes long.

But the dogs were very quiet.

They did not move.

These animals are guide dogs.

Someday, they will help disabled people.

Guide dogs have to be quiet in public.

So, they practiced at the musical.

They did very well!

### Redhead Festival

 

Some people have red hair.

Surprisingly, the color is natural.

They do not dye their hair.

There are not many redheaded people in the world.

So, there is a special festival for them.

The festival takes place in August in the Netherlands.

This year, over 4,000 redheaded people came from 65 countries.

Many people had straight hair.

Some people had curly hair.

Others braided their red hair.

People took pictures with redheaded people.

Everyone had a good time!

### Longest Cable Car

 

There is a new cable car in Korea.

It is the longest in the country.

The cable car is in Mokpo, Jeolla Province.

It opened to the public on September 7.

The ride is 3.23 kilometers long!

The cable car passes over a mountain and a sea.

Some of the cable cars have a glass floor.

So, visitors can look down.

They can see beautiful landscapes.

### Mars Homes

 

In the future, astronauts will go to Mars.

But where will they live?

NASA wanted new ideas for homes on Mars.

So, the space agency held a contest.

In May, a team from New York won the contest.

They created homes named Marsha.

The Marsha homes are big and brown.

They are shaped like pods.

They have a kitchen, a gym, and many rooms.

So, they are very comfortable.

The homes can be built with 3D printers.

Also, the walls are made with Mars rocks.

So, astronauts can build the homes by themselves.
