This year, winter was warmer than usual in Korea, and spring arrived earlier, as well.

Due to this, spring flowers are expected to bloom at an earlier time.

According to experts, spring flowers will blossom about three to six days before their usual date.

This means they will start to color the southern parts of Korea from mid-March.

Forsythias and azaleas are two common spring flowers in the nation.

On Jeju Island, the two flowers are set to appear on or around March 13 and 18, respectively.

Then, they will move up north to Seoul and Gyeonggi Province by March 23 and 25.

Cherry blossoms, which are the favorites of many Koreans, will arrive a week later.

They are expected to bloom beginning March 20 in Jeju Island, and then spread to the rest of the nation by early April.

Normally, Korea would hold various spring flower festivals, so that visitors can enjoy the beauty of the flowers.

However, some of the events may not take place as planned due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Still, there should be plenty of streets full of flowering trees, allowing people to appreciate the spring season.
