Vegetarianism

These days, more and more people are turning vegetarian.

They are cooking and consuming meals without meat, and ask for vegetarian dishes when they eat out.

In turn, restaurants and supermarkets are providing more options for vegetarians and vegans.

Indeed, many vegetarians say that there is no good reason for people to continue eating meat.

They say that it is unethical to kill animals just so that we can eat them.

Also, it has been medically proven that a meat-heavy diet is not good for your health in the long term.

Therefore, it is physically and morally better to choose a vegetarian lifestyle, they say.

On the other hand, there are still many people who reject these arguments.

They say that meat contains protein and vitamins that our bodies need.

Many of these nutrients cannot be acquired easily through grain or vegetables.

So, they argue, people are much healthier when their balanced diet includes meat.

Furthermore, these doubters say a vegetarian diet is too difficult and inconvenient to maintain.

Most restaurants make their meals with some amount of meat or meat-based products.

Due to this, they say it would be time-consuming to try to find vegetarian alternatives all the time.

It could even become an issue when sharing a meal with non-vegetarians.

However, supporters of vegetarianism argue that it is not difficult to cut out meat from our diet.

In fact, they say that it has never been easier than now to make the switch.

Most restaurants and grocery stores provide a variety of nutritious vegetarian dishes.

Moreover, they point out that even fast-food establishments have begun to offer meatless versions of their popular meals.
