In October, KEB Hana Bank announced that it would announced that it would stop offering bankbooks to new customers.

Instead, it is asking all of its customers to use the online banking system via smartphones and computers.

Indeed, more banks are expected to follow in KEB Hana Bank's footsteps and stop providing bankbooks in the near future.

Many people support this move to get rid of bankbooks.

They say that in the age of the Internet, bankbooks have become obsolete.

Most customers find it more convenient to do all their banking online, rather than keep their records on paper.

There is also the risk of losing the physical bankbook or having it stolen.

Banks are also happy to stop offering bankbooks to their customers.

Bank officials say they use up a lot of paper and other raw materials in the production of the bankbooks.

So, by changing their policy, they will not only save money, but their actions will also be more beneficial to the environment.

On the other hand, there are people who want banks to continue issuing bankbooks.

These people say that it is not safe to have all their banking information in digital form.

Their online accounts could be hacked or their transactions could be mistakenly recorded by computers.

So, keeping bank records on paper is more trustworthy, they say.

Also, these critics argue that not everyone feels comfortable using online banking services.

Some bank customers may not have suitable smartphones or computers, while other customers may not be adept at making bank transactions online.

Therefore, it is unfair to penalize these customers by taking away their physical bankbooks, the critics say.
