Umm... What? That's Christian Bale?

 

A: 

"응.  이 역을 맡으려고 40 파운드를 찌웠대."

Yeah, They say he gained like 40 pounds to play this role.

 

B: 

"장난 아니다.  정말 훌륭한 배우이고 그렇다는건 알겠는데 

That's unbelievable .... I get that he's a really great actor and everything 

• I get that     의도된 메세지나 그 속에 의미가 나한테 충분히 전달됐으니 충분히 알겠다

사실 가장 먼저 계속 드는 생각은, 

but, I've got to say, the first thing that's going through my mind right now is,

• I've got to say == I have got to say == I gotta say   어떤 할말이 있을때 ~ 내 생각은 ~ 

• 내 머리속을 통과하고있는 가장 첫번째 생각은 / 다른 생각을 할수 있기전에 우선적으로 드는 생각은 ~ 

 

왜 그냥 늙은 배우를 캐스팅할 수 없었던걸까? 

Why couldn't they have just cast an older actor?

• why couldn't someone have just something   왜 누군가가 왜이렇게 하지 못했을까 / 안했을까?

 

그랬으면 분장 가지고 그런 수고를 하지 않아도 됐을텐데."

That way, they wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble with the makeup.

• ~하지 않아도 됐었다 : wouldn't have had to

• ~할 필요가 없었을거다 : wouldn't have needed to

• go through something ~ ~을 겪다.

"감독이 처음부터 그 배우를 생각에 두고 있었다나봐.  

Well, apparently, the director specifically had him in mind for the role.

• have 누구/무엇 in mind  :  누구/무엇을 생각(마음)에 두고있는 

• specifically   spəˈsɪfɪkli   분명히, 명확하게

• for the role 그 역할을 위해서

 

그리고 크리스찬 베일이잖아.  배우로서 도전하는걸 좋아하잖아."
