Mexican Sandwich Breaks Record

Mexican tortas are sandwiches made of flatbread and spicy meat.

On July 31, chefs in Mexico put together the largest torta ever.

The Mexican sandwich spanned 72 meters.

It had more than 60 ingredients, including bread, lettuce, meat, onion, and tomato.

Plus, it weighted 865 kilograms, which is about 6,700 timers heavier than a hamburger.

The chefs broke the record for the largest torta.

However, there have been heavier and longer sandwiches before.

In 2005, cooks in America made the heaviest sandwich.

It weighted a little over 2,467 kilograms.

It contained hundreds of kilograms of beef, lettuce, and mayonnaise.

The longest sandwich was made by cooks in Lebanon in 2011.

It was 735 meters long and took more than 700 people to prepare it.

Hopefully, the chefs all got to taste their record-breaking sandwiches afterward.
