All Grades Now Composed of Students of Same Age

In 2020, all students in each grade will be composed of students born in the same year.

It will be the first time for this to be the case since the government changed school policy in 2009.

Prior to 2008, first-grade classes were made up of students who were 6 in international age.

But because the school year began in March, this meant students born in January and February were also included.

However, this caused confusion because some classmates were different in Korean age, which carries great meaning in Korean society.

Also, this meant the age gap between some of the students was more than a year.

Because of this, some younger students struggled to keep up with their older classmates.

To resolve these issues, the government decided to stop allowing parents to enroll their children in school a year early.

This change in policy started with first grade elementary school students in 2009.

These students are entering their final year in high school in March 2020.

This means that the policy change has finally taken effect in all grades from elementary school to high school.

So, there will no longer be any classes composed of students born in different years.
