The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country in the Middle East.

In 2018, the UAE government asked the Korean government for help.

It wanted to grow Korean rice.

However, it is very hot and dry in the UAE.

Also, there are many desert areas.

Because of these conditions, it is hard to grow crops.

So, Korean researchers made special rice seeds.

In late 2019, they sowed the seeds in a desert area.

They pumped water through water pipes.

In March, they finally harvested the rice.

They reaped 763 kilograms of rice.

It was big success.

In the future, these crops will help countries in the Middle East.
