'Hummingbird' Awarded 34 Times

A Korea independent movie recently received an award at a small film festival in the United States.

Surprisingly, it was the 34th prize for the acclaimed film.

"House of Hummingbird" is the debut film of director Kim Bo-ra.

The movie is set in Seoul in the mid-1990s, and tells the story of 14-year-old Eun-hee, a teenager from a troubled household.

The young girl faces various difficulties but gradually overcomes them to find hope and love.

"House of Hummingbird" premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2018, where it received two awards.

Since then, the coming-of-age drama has been screened at various domestic and international film events around the world and picked up numerous prizes.

On October 20, the art film received the top prize at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, the United States.

It was the 34th prize received by the independent movie, which is the most ever for a Korean film
