Day 65 : The game ended in a tie.  무승부로 끝났어

 

스포츠 경기에서 "무승부로 끝나다"라고 말할 때 사용하는 표현

박빙이었다 = It was a close game..., It was neck and neck.

 

I'm really crazy about soccer lately.

> Which team are you rooting for?

Chelsea. They came from behind and won 3 to 1 today.

> I guess your team is on a winning streak.

Yeah. That's the ninth win in a row already.

> My team's game ended in a tie.

 

  • root for sb / sth 응원[성원]하다

 

Which team are you gonna support this time?

> Win or lose, we're rooting for the Korean team.

 

  • come (up) from behind 역전하다, 추월해서 1위로 들어오다, 역전승하다

 

What was the result of the baseball game yesterday?

> Korea came from behind and beat China 3 to 2.

 

  • be on a winning / losing steak 연전연승[연패]하다

 

LA Dodgers is on a winning steak lately.

There're okay so far, but I hope they don't push their luck.

 

  • end in a tie / draw  무승부로 끝나다

> Of course. The match ended in a tie, 3 to 3.

 

  • streak striːk <바탕을 이루는 부분과 색깔이 다른 기다란 줄 모양의 것>, (사람의 성격에서 특히 좋지 못한) 구석[데]

  • a streak of cruelty  잔인한 구석[데]  to hit a winning streak 연속적으로 우승하다  a steak of good luck 행운의 연속

  • in a row 잇달아[연이어]  = without a break = in succession win in a row 연속으로, 잇달아 우승하다

  • push / press one's luck  운을 과신하다. 운을 너무 믿고 덤비다
