#. Hanbok School Uniforms

Hanbok is the traditional attire of the Korean people.

In the past, it was worn in daily life, but nowadays, people only put it on during special occasions.

Soon, however, we may see many teenagers, wearing hanbok on a regular basis.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is encouraging schools to introduce hanbok uniforms.

The ministry said it would offer financial support to some schools to make the transition possible.

Many students say that they want their school to make this switch to the hanbok uniforms.

They say that their current uniforms are ill-fitting and too inconvenient to wear.

By contrast, the hanbok uniforms are loose-fitting and comfortable.

So, they say they will feel better while they attend class.

Furthermore, these students say that hanbok holds great symbolic meaning for Koreans.

In many ways, it represents the traditional spirit and culture of the nation.

So, the students say they will feel proud to wear their hanbok school uniforms and connect to that tradition.

Other students, however, are not enamored with the idea of wearing uniforms made with hanbok.

Their main complaint is that hanbok is normally associated with traditional holidays, such as New Year's Day and Chuseok.

So, it would be disrespectful to wear it casually in school all year round.

In addition, these students say that while hanbok is likely physically comfortable, its overly fine quality will be burdensome.

Students will act too carefully while wearing it because they will worry about getting it dirty.

In this manner, students will feel more awkward in hanbok school uniforms than in their existing ones.
