Gyeonggi Installs Smart Libraries

Gyeonggi has been installing so-called Smart Libraries throughout the province.

The high-tech machines are making it easy for citizens to borrow books.

The Smart Library is an automated Library that works like a vending machine.

Each machine contains over 400 books that people can choose from, and two books can be checked out at a time.

All that is required is a library card from a local library.

The Smart Libraries are usually placed where people can easily access them.

Many have been installed at subway stations, which allows people to get and return a book on their way to work or school.

Also, the Smart Libraries operate year-round, and some of the machines in open areas can be used 24 hours a day.

Currently, there are 45 Smart Libraries across the province.

The government plans to provide 12 more machines in different cities.

Other districts, including Seoul and Busan, also provide an increasing number of Smart Libraries with a variety of books.
