@  - ing와 찰떡궁합인 단어 4가지.

 

1. busy 바쁘다

 

be busy + - ing:

~하느라 바빠/ ~하느라 바빴어. ( = 무언가를 하고 있기 때문에 바뻐)

I’m too busy working on my website. * work on ~에 열중하다

I’m sorry. I’ll be too busy working.

I’m busy getting ready for the trip. *  get ready for ~을 준비하다

I’m busy working out.

 

A: So. What are you doing now?

B: I’m a little busy.

A: Busy doing what? 뭐하느라 바쁜데? 

B: Um.. I’m busy doing nothing.

 

Why didn’t you get the phone?

> I’m sorry. I was busy cleaning up the house.

> I was busy doing something.

> I was busy taking care of my nephew. * nephew 남자조카 , niece 여자조카

 

I was busy rescuing this animal. * rescue 구출하다

I don't remember. I was too busy thinking about you.

 

2. spend 쓰다 

 

# spend time +-ing: 

~하느라시간을보내다/~하면서시간을보내다. (= 무언가를 하고 있기때문에 그 시간을 보내)

 

spend time reading books.

spend a day working on a presentation.

spend a whole weekend buying my mom’s birthday gift.

 

대화문에서는 과거형으로 쓰일 경우가 많다 spent 

‘뭐했어’ > spent -ing 로 대답가능

 

What did you do this morning? 

> I spent time reading books.

 

What did you do last weekend?

> I spent a whole weekend buying my mom’s birthday gift.

 

I spent all my time comparing myself to her. * compare to ~와 비교하다

 

What do you usually do on weekends?

> I usually spend resting at home.

> I usually spend time watching dramas and working out.

> I usually spend time preparing for my class.

 

# spend money 돈을 쓰다 + on

 

I spent all my money on buying the car.

I spent much money on studying English.

 

3. waste 낭비하다

 

waste  time + -ing: 

~하느라/~하면서 시간을 낭비하다. ( = spend 와 똑같이 시간과 돈을 쓰는것)

 

waste time playing games

waste time doing nothing

waste time dating him.

 

I don’t want to waste my time and money doing what I don’t want to do.

 

4. mind.

 

 Would you mind + -ing~ ? = ing 하는거 해주시겠어요? 

 Do you mind + - ing ~?

(1) 괜찮으실까요? ( 신경쓰이실까요?)

(2) ~해주실수있나요? (~해주시겠어요?)

 

Would you mind closing the door?

Would you mind taking a photo of me?

> Of course not. Give me the phone.

Would you mind turning down the music?

> Not at all. 

 

Would you mind giving us a second?

Would you mind waiting down here?
