Lee Se-dol 본문
Lee Se-dol was a top player in baduk, also known as go.
Although he recently retired, he will be remembered for his great accomplishment.
Born in 1983, Lee showed his baduk skills early in life.
When he was only 12, he debuted as a professional baduk player.
By the age of 20, he reached 9 dan, the highest rank in the game.
In total, Lee played professional baduk for 24 years.
During his career, Lee won 18 international competitions and 32 domestic events.
In 2016, Lee played his world-famous match against the A.I program alphaGo.
Despite trying his best, he lost the match 4 games to 1.
However, he is still the only human to win even one game against the powerful computer.
In November 2019, Lee retired from professional baduk.
He plans to go to the United States and promote the game there.
A month after retiring, Lee played a farewell match against Han-dol, the Korean A.I. program.
Although he lost the match, he was again able to defeat the computer in one of the three games.
