#. Democratic Party Selects Presidential Candidate

After a long and arduous process, the Democratic Party in the United States has finally chosen its presidential candidate.

Joe Biden is poised to take on incumbent President Donald Trump of the Republican Party in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

Biden has had a long, illustrious career in politics that spans five decades.

He represented the state of Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009.

However, he is best known for serving two terms as the vice president to Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.

Many assumed that Biden would seek the presidency in the 2016 election.

However, he opted to stay out of that race, allowing Hillary Clinton to run against Trump, who narrowly won.

In April 2019, Biden threw his hat in the ring and announced his intention to run for president.

He took on a large field of candidates in the Democratic Party's presidential primary elections, the process by which the nominee is chosen.

Although considered a front-runner, he stumbled early on after a string of poor debate performances.

He then staged a surprising comeback later in the primaries, receiving important endorsements from fellow Democrats, some of whom dropped out of the race to support him.

In April, Senator Bernie Sanders became the final challenger to withdraw from the race, leaving Biden as the presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party.

Biden's nomination is set to become official at the Democratic National Convention in August.

Political pundits say that Biden's political experience could be enough to topple Trump in the November election.

Also, due to the coronavirus crisis and the volatile economy, many voters may be seeking new leadership to bring stability to the country.

On the other hand, it is usually difficult to defeat an incumbent president in an election.

Also, Trump's strong base of supporters has remained firmly on his side despite the current crisis.
