Russian pilot Damir Yusupov might not consider himself a hero, but many people say otherwise.

On August 15, Yusupov and his co-pilot, Georgy Murzin, saved 233 passengers with a brave emergency landing.

On that day, a flock of birds hit the airplane soon after it took off from an airport in Moscow.

Thinking quickly, Yusupov turned off the engines to keep them from bursting into flames.

However, there was not enough time to return to the airport.

So, Yusupov and Murzin strategically landed in a cornfield near Moscow.

One passenger said the plane begun shaking five seconds into the flight.

Then, it was back on the ground and people were running away.

More than 20 people sustained injuries, but fortunately, everyone survived.
