이번 연습가이드의 훈련목표: 1. if - as long as - unless  2. "미루다" - postpone - delay - push back + @

 

•  ---을 하기로 하다.

I decide to V 내가 내린 결정에 대해 하기로 하다.

I'm planing to V 가벼운 어떤 계획, 일정에 대해 하기로 하다.

I have plans to V 비교적 장기적인 계획, 인생에서 중요한 계획을 말할 때.

 

I'm planning to go skiing this weekend with some friends.

I'm really hoping that we can go this time.

 

• --- 하면 좋겠어요.

I'm really hoping that S + V

I'm really hoping to V

I'm really hoping that it doesn't rain this weekend.

I'm really hoping that I can move to a bigger house next year.

 

• ---을 나중으로 미루다

postpone (재조정을 통해서 일정을 다시 잡기로 하고) 미루다.

push back (지금, 현재 안하고 나중으로) 미루다.

delay  (의도적이 아닌) 어쩌다가 지연이 되다. 지연시키다. (수동태로 많이 사용)

 

나쁜 사람이 나쁜 짓을 못하도록 그녀의 행동이나 계략을 느리게 만든다는 상황에서

delay her 라고 하는게 의도를 가지고 delay 를 하는 경우 중 하나.

The flight was delayed.

 

We've already postponed it twice.  * desperate : 간절히 바라는 상태를 현재완료로 사용

Everyone is going to get pretty busy soon.

If we don't(can't) go this time, we might not get(have) another chance this year.

So this time, we made a promise.

 

As long as it's not an emergency, no one can cancel.

 

* urgent situation 급한 상황

* emergency 비상사태

 

 

if 그렇게 될지 안될지 모르는 중간 상태에서 혹시...

as long as 기대와 예상을 하면서 빚나가지만 않는다면...

unless = as long as + not --하지만 않는다면...

As long as it's not an emergency. = Unless it is an emergency.

 

no one can cancel.

nobody can cancel.

no one is allowed to cancel.

 

Unless something comes up, I think we're going to be able to go this time.

• come up ---일이 생기다, 발생하다.

Something came up and I had to go back home.

이번주 주말에 친구들 몇명이랑 스키타러 가기로 했어요.

이번에는 정말 좀 갈수 있었으면 좋겠어요.

벌써 두 번이나 미룬거고요. 다들 곧 바빠져서

이번에 안가면 올해는 더 이상 기회가 없을지도 몰라요.

그래서 이번에는 약속을 했어요.

아주 급한 일만 아니면 절대 취소하기 없기로요.

그래서 별일만 안 생기면, 이번에는 갈수 있을 것 같아요.
