어제 백화점에 갔었어. 

Yesterday, I went to the department store.

 

정말 마음에 드는 코트가 있었어.

There was a coat that I really liked.

I saw / I found a coat that I really liked.

 

점원이 그게 마지막꺼라고 그랬어.

The clerk said that it was the last one.

 

그래서 그냥  그걸 바로 살수도 있었어. 

So, I could've just bought / purchased it right away.

• ~할 수도 있었어. 조동사 + have p.p

• could have pp ==  could've

 

근데 더 좋은게 있는지 한번 확인해 보고 싶었어.  

But I wanted to see if there was anything / something better.

•  I wanted to see if  ~ 가 있는지 확인해 보고싶었어

 

근데 더 좋은게 없었어 / 좋은걸 못찾았어.

But I couldn't find anything / something better.

 

근데, 그 첫번째 가게로 다시 돌아갔을때는 이미 누가 그 코트를 사간 후였어.

But by the time I went back to that first place / store,someone had already bought / purchased that coat.

• by the time ~ 를 했을때 쯤에는

 

살수 있었을때 그걸 내가 샀어야 했어 / 사야 했었어.

I should've bought / purchased / got it when I had the chance.

• ~ 을 해야 했었어 / 했었어야 되는데

• should have p.p

a day before Yesterday, I went to the department store. There was a coat that I really liked. The clerk said that it was the last one.

So, I could have bought it right away. But I wanted to see if there was anything better. But I couldn't find anything better.
