What would you do if you had a billion dollars?

Some billionaires enjoy buying lots of fancy, expensive things.

Others, however, are very generous with their money.

Robert Smith is one of those billionaires.

He used to be a banker and an engineer.

Now, he owns an investment company called Vista Equity Partners.

He's worth about 5 billion dollars.

In May, Smith visited More-house College.

It's small university in Georgia, the United States.

He gave a speech to the 396 graduating students.

He said that he would pay off all their student loans.

"My father and I are going to put a little fuel in your bus," he said.

"For this year's graduating class, we are making a grant to eliminate your student loans."

Smith also signed the Giving Pledge.

It's a promise made by more than 200 of the world's richest people.

It say they will donate most of their money to charity after they pass away.

The pledge was created by Bill Gates and Warren Buffet in 2010.

There are also two of the world's most generous billionaires.
