This year's Summer Olympics was postponed.

The event was scheduled for this summer in Tokyo.

Many Japanese people were very excited about it.

However, the coronavirus is a serious problem right now.

Because of it, large groups of people should not gather in one place.

So, the Japanese government and the Olympic committee made a difficult decision.

They postponed the Tokyo Summer Olympics to 2021.

"I'm disappointed by the news," one athlete said.

"But it is better to be safe than sorry."
