#. Back-to-School Traditions
The first day of school is a special day.
So, different countries created special ways to celebrate it.
Here are three interesting back-to-school traditions.
@ Germany
On the first day of school, first graders get a gift from their family.
It is a special cone called Schultuten.
On the outside, it has pretty decorations.
On the inside, it is filled with candy, school supplies, and toys!
@ Russia
On September 1, teachers, students, and their families attend a special ceremony.
They listen to speeches and songs.
Teachers receive flowers.
Then, everyone waits to hear the first bell of the new school year.
@ Japan
First graders get a special backpack in Japan.
It is called randoseru.
Children will use this backpack for six years.
With it, they learn how to take care of their things.
