Due to coronavirus outbreak, many students are studying from home instead of in classrooms.

As a response, students at one New York City high school came up with a novel idea.

The students built a replica of their school online.

They used the popular video game Minecraft for their project.

To build the virtual version of their school, the students first studied the blueprints of the building.

Then, they constructed the rooms in the Minecraft universe with precision.

They also added details, such as outdoor trashcans with seagulls near them.

The students use avatars to interact inside the school.

They take part in various activities and let off steam with their classmates.

Other schools have also recreated their campuses online.

Earlier this year, schools in Japan and the United States even had virtual graduation ceremonies using Minecraft.
