It's actually been quite a while since I got my own place. But it hasn't been very long since I really started to cook.  It was only after I found out  how much I was spending on food, that I felt the need to start cooking. It took some time but once I got used to the grocery shopping, it wasn't that hard. 

 

이번 연습가이드에서 배우는 표현들: 1. "절반쯤 지나서" / "절반쯤 지났다" 2. 차가 막히다 3. 그래서 ~~했던 것은 아니다 4. 그래서 ~ 했던거다

A: 야 너 영화 절반쯤 지나고 들어온거 같던데?

It looked like you came in halfway through the movie.

 

  • halfway through 절반쯤 지나서 

  • It's already halfway through the month. 절반쯤 지난 시점 

  • It's already halfway into the month. 절반쯤 되는 시점

  • It looked like ~ 같던데, 추측

B: 어 맞아 늦어서 미안해 Yes. I'm sorry I was late.  A:아냐 괜찮아 No, that's OK. Don't worry about it.   A:차가 그렇게 많이 막혔어? Was the traffic that bad?

 

  • 차가 막히다 traffic jam 은 많이 사용안함

  • The traffic was bad / terrible.

  • There was a lot of traffic. 교통량이 많았다

A: 어 근데, 그래서 늦은건 아니고... Yes, but that's not why I was late.

  • 그래서 ~ 한건 아니고 

  • that's not why ~  == that's not the reason

  • 출발은 2시전에 했는데 오는길에 갑자기 들러야 될곳이 생겨서. I left before 2 o'clock but on my way (here) I suddenly had to stop by somewhere.

 

  • ~에 들리다

  • stop by / drop by / swing by

  • I suddenly had somewhere to stop by. == I suddenly had to stop by somewhere.

 

그래서 좀 오래 걸렸어 That's why it took a little long.

  • 그래서 that's why
