영어를 가르치다보면 talk, speak, say, tell - 이 네 단어를 구분하지 못하고 혼란스러워하는 사람들이 많다.  이번 영상에서는 이 4가지 단어를 구분해서 사용하는 법을 배워봅니다.

 

talk / speak  -  말을 하는 행동 / 행위

• talk 가 speak 를 대체할수 있다.

 

What did you do with your friends?

• We just talked.  to each other (X)

• We didn't do much, and we just talked.

• We talked for 2 hours.

• We talked about our jobs.

• We talked about our school lives.

• My friend talked  about her boyfriend / his girlfriend.

• He talked about his wife.

 

say / tell  - 말의 내용

 

• She said she was very sick recently.

• he said / she said / I said / you said

 

tell 타동사 -  특정 개인 / 다수 에게 전달된 내용

 

tell + 누구 + 무엇

She told me she was very sick recently.

 

이번주에 비가 올거래 ( 온대)  - 불특정 다수에게 얘기함

They say it's going to rain this week.

The president gave a speech, and he said ~
