On the subway, it is often hard to get people's attention.

Many passengers rarely pay attention to the overhead announcements.

So, Seoul Metro came up with a clever idea.

The subway operator recently hired K-pop stars to record the announcements.

In April, Joy and Seulgi of the girl group Red Velvet recorded 12 messages to be heard on subway lines 1 through 8.

In a cheerful and friendly voice, they now notify commuters of subway safety rules and public etiquette.

Also, they give encouraging messages to cheer people up.

In the past, Seoul Metro put out subway announcements by popular actors, including Kim Ji-won and Park Shin-hye.

They have received positive responses from passengers.
